What is the best age to start ABA therapy?

The best age to start ABA therapy is as early as your child’s needs are clear, often the toddler and preschool years. Young children learn communication and play skills quickly, and early practice can make daily routines and the move into school easier.

You do not have to wait for a perfect moment. If you are worried about your child’s speech, play or behavior, ask your pediatrician about screening, and request a free early intervention evaluation if your child is under 3. That said, ABA is not only for little kids. School-age children, teens and young adults also work on goals like friendships, independence and handling hard moments. We work with children and young adults up to age 21.
